November News: “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." Vincent van Gogh That is true for so many things and it is certainly how most paintings are made.There is the time, effort and usually hundreds of small strokes to bring a painting into being. It's the thrill of creating and putting the work out into the world that drives me forward. It is a struggle at times and then there is van Gogh. He was surely driven in a similar way but it is sad to think that his works weren't really seen until he was gone. Of his 900 canvases, he sold just this one, at least it is the only one officially recorded as sold during his 10 years of painting. It was purchased 4 months before his death, but his art remains. Van Gogh’s The Red Vineyard (Red Vineyard at Arles, Montmajour) (November 1888) Pushkin Museum, Moscow Currently I am in a Group Exhibit, For The Love Of Paint, at Madelyn Jordon Fine Art, Scarsdale, NY. The exhibit will be up through December 24. More information  In the exhibit: Forest in Shade, oil on canvas, above, 36 x 60 inches Also, here are new works just delivered to the Sorelle Gallery, Westport, Connecticut View the fun, unveiling video​ and music by Campbell•Beat Goes On (Rhythm to the Brain) For a number of months now, other artists have joined me in my studios to "paint along." They have already attended my formal classes, some are established artists and now we spend the day on our individual paintings. The important part is how we compare notes and problem-solve throughout the day, making for a rich, hands-on learning experience. The price is $50, including the use of my paints. Also, my thanks to the Colorado and Connecticut collectors that purchased oils recently. I appreciate the inspiration to make more! Ken
